After Vista Install my System Keeps Rebooting, Plz Help!

I have found that Vista is far more aggressive in its caching of icons that XP is. You can change the icon completely and Vista keeps using the old version. What I do is kill off the Explorer.exe process and that seems to sort things out. Oddly, rebooting doesn't always seem to work. My icons seem to work with just
